It’s so warm that a beautiful sleek slow worm in the garden is seeking shade! So lovely to have all the doors and windows open and feel the soil warming up ready to encourage the young veggies.

Lots of people working very hard on Dorset Art Weeks which starts on May 26 and goes on till June 10. How great that the weather looks good for the artists – it’ll show off l the work in the best light! Still got some B&B space if you’re thinking of visiting Dorset to see the open studios and gardens and need a base…

At last the sun is shining and the garden is trying its best to catch up! The May tree is finally in beautiful pink blossom and the warmth is gorgeous. All the doors and windows are open and there’s a lovely free-flow between indoors and out. Today it’s a bit hazy and the hills look mystical in the soft light. Too hot to garden right now, so will do a bit of gentle weeding this evening!

The world famous Boogie Woogie Festival celebrates its 8th year in Sturminster Newton and accommodation in Betty’s Loft is available for music lovers coming to the area! July 6, 7 and 8 2012. Book soon….

A year on and Betty’s Loft here at Moongate has provided lovely accommodation for a variety of visitors – some have rested here while attending music and food festivals, others while passing through North Dorset and deciding they wanted to spend longer in this beautiful neck of the woods. And others have found Moongate a fabulous place to enjoy a mini-retreat with therapies and peace and quiet. Looking forward to spring and early summer in this special place.

Jane’s new adventure

Hello everybody and thanks for taking a look at this website.  Well, the Bed and Breakfast accommodation is finally ready - it’s taken a while and some of you probably thought it was a figment of my imagination but it is now all complete.   It’s a lovely space with a stunning view of rural Dorset and now I’m hoping to enjoy it and invite others to enjoy it too.  It’s a particularly good opportunity for visitors who would like to include a therapy or even attend a course but fabulous for anybody who just wants a few quiet days in beautiful surroundings, away from the madding crowd.  The website is embryonic and I’ll be posting news from Moongate regularly so do pop back and have another look.  And of course, please forward this to anybody who might want to visit…..  Hope you can come too!
